Movie Traditions
Posted by terrepruitt on November 6, 2019
Do you have any movies that you watch over the Holidays? Or movies that you watch for specific events? Last night my husband came home and he said, “Do you want me to wait or should I start the movie without you?” I had forgotten the date so I didn’t know what he was talking about, then he said, “It’s the 5th.” As he was saying it I realized what day it was and what we were going to watch. We had talked about it on Saturday. So we watch V For Vendetta on the 5th of November.
I am listen to a book and their family tradition is to watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles on Thanksgiving. I know, from posts on Facebook from my friends that some people watch Love Actually over the Christmas Holiday.
What about you? Do you have any movie traditions? Do you have movies you watch on specific days or specific events?

Ahhhh, my hubby is a SuperHero movie guy so I have watched all the Iron Mans at least three times. My husband likes to watch movies over and over. I like to watch some movies over and over. Jumanji (the second one) is our current favorite to re-watch. Never fails to make me laugh.

Any holiday movie that’s upbeat. Love Actially is good. The British movies Nativity 1, 2, and 3 are pretty good. A little corny for adults, but family friendly.

🙂 I will have to watch those. I looked up the first one and I like the Hobbit actor. Sometimes corny is good because there is so much “adult” stuff out there it gets tiring – to me anyway. This is the season where a lot of cheesy Christmas movies come out. I have been enjoying them the last couple of years. They are ALL the same, but that is ok, I am looking for happy endings. Thanks for your input!

You can buy them at times at EBay.uk. You would need an all region DVD player of you live outside the U.K. They are cheap enough to pick up on eBay or Amazon.

I will keep an eye out for it. Sometimes they end up on streaming. It looks like at one time it was on Netflix and Amazon.

The Nativity shows have one school in common. One year students compete in a flash mob competition. Another year it’s a choir competition.

Yeah, you know how it is, once they find a story that works . . . .
