Cat Entertainment

Posted by terrepruitt on October 20, 2021

Both entertainment for the cat and entertained by the cat.  I know my cat is not the only cat – or pet, for that matter – that watches TV, but it makes me laugh every time. Especially since she has a yard with actual critters in it, but she is still fascinated by the ones on a video. She always tries to see where they go. When the device is flat on the ground (as in an iPad or iPhone) she puts her paw underneath it to try to see where it went. It makes me laugh that she is so entertained by watching a video and I can watch her for long periods of time. Then it dawns on me that I am so entertained watching her watch videos.

Does your pet like to watch TV and/or videos? What is their favorite type?

Our parrots like to watch cartoons all day. If my husband is home and changes the channel to golf — there is a big disruption by the smallest parrot. He hates Golf and Friends. My cats don’t notice the TV, but I have a mouse-catching app on my cellphone. Gracie loves to play it, sticking her paw under the phone to catch the mice as they leave the screen. After a while, she remembers that she never gets to catch them, and she walks away. It’s pretty intense at first, though.

    • Oh my that is so hilarious! I can see why cartoons would be more entertaining than golf. More colors and action in cartoons. I have a mouse app on my iPad and one of the cats will look at it for a second or two, but is not as interested as she is with the videos. For you, I don’t now how you feel, but two minutes of entertainment is a win to me! Thank you for sharing!!
