So how do you pick a book to read/listen to? I pick a book depending upon what I want to listen to. Primarily, I love to listen to lighthearted Rom Coms. I like to know how – basically – it is going to end. But sometimes I need a break from those. Most often I want a book fast because I just finished one and I want another one to listen to so sometimes I just will pick a book that is available. That method has led me to some very enjoyable books. Then I can look for books by that author or even books that the narrator has read. Looking at this list you may see that I have listened to a few books by the same author (Mhairi McFarlane, for one). I don’t like to read the entire book description because it often gives too much information away. Some books have started on a something-is-wrong-with-the-character but I know her “secret” because the summary said, “Joy is trying to keep her divorce a secret.” Well, that takes away from half of the book because the author wrote it as if IT WAS A SECRET. That is just an example. So I try not to read the book description or the reviews which I don’t put much stock in. So sometimes I am rather surprised by a book.
I am posting screenshots in batches because I am hoping to hear from you. And I think a batch of 10ish screenshots is enough to go through at a time.
Here are the screenshots of January 2024 thru November 2023.
February 2024 through April 2024 is here.
May 2024 to July 10, 2024 is here.
How do you pick a book? Have you read any of these?
