Silhouettes

Posted by terrepruitt on July 30, 2009

I love these.  At first I was disappointed because you can’t actually see the colors, but I looked at them again, and, I like them.

Look, you can see the tiny feet.

He’s not landing because he keeps getting chased off.

Their little feet are so cute!

I always think that we are so lucky because in San Jose, California, we get to see them for a long period during the year.  And we have about eight.  My friend just posted on FaceBook that she has too many to count.  She has to fill her feeders twice a day.  We have six feeders and we don’t fill them that much.  When it is hot, it works out to maybe twice  a week, but when it is cooler they don’t drink at much.

  2. These are lovely Terre. A unique visual. I love seeing their teeny little talons and the movement of their wings.

    Beautifully done!!

    Love,

    • As I said, at first I was disappointed because you can’t really SEE them. But then I looked again and I realized you can see them, they are just different. Still amazing little creatures, but just in a different light.

Hummingbirds fascinate me. They are so fast and so tiny and so vicious.

    • Thanks. Picture blogs are good for you, huh? Since you have no time to be reading any more than you already read.

Thank you so much for looking and commenting.

I love our hummingbirds. Of course you know that. They have not been very active in the cool weather. It is the heat that they go crazy in!

Both the pics and the humming birds are cool. Although someone tall and handsome and clumsy broke our actual feeder (two days after we hung it), we are getting hummingbirds feeding on the flowers in our yard. Not as many as you, though. You are lucky!

    • Man those tall handsome ones can be clumsy I guess. John usually has a few extra because he doesn’t like to have our birds go without. But we have five in one yard and one in the other.

I love our hummingbirds. I’m gonna keep posting them!
