Second Day Of Our Month Of Planking
Posted by terrepruitt on March 2, 2013
So here is the check in post that you get to use. I post this right after midnight (PST) so that early birds can post their comment that they did their plank. I might not get around to it until a lot later in the day and I want you to be able to post your “I did it!” as soon as you do it!
In my original post I had mentioned putting your palms on the floor. Well, if this causes stress/pain in the wrist I would recommend making a fist and having the side of your hands on the ground. Remember pain is not the goal. Discomfort . . . something that our bodies use to tell us it is being challenged and learning something new is one thing. Pain is another.
How are you doing? Are you going to add to your time tomorrow? Are you going to keep your duration during this coming week?

I decided to get mine done today before the two Nia classes I am going to teach. I am subbing two classes in a row with Nia. Got my plank in. Maybe I’ll get the participants in the classes to do it too.

Hello! Ok i just did this – I am terrible at it, I guess that means I should take your challenge for March. Fifteen seconds was all I could do. I suppose I could have technically stayed longer but I was really shaking, so I think I will start slow and see if can build some of those muscles 🙂 Yay for two classes today!!

FIFTEEN SECONDS IS AWESOME!!!!!! And sometimes, yes, if we are terrible at something, if we want to be better at it, then yeah, that is what we should do. Sometimes instead of doing something LONGER it is best to concentrate on “BETTER”. Right? So tomorrow in your 15 seconds, don’t think about going longer, forget about that now. Think about breathing. Think about the placement of your head. Can you sense that it is in alignment with your hips? Is your entire spine in alignment? Like you said, build some muscle endurance then add time . . . .
YAY! Thank you. I was totally counting on you joining me. I was trying to think of a challenge that would be of great benefit but that would easily fit into yours (mine, and everyone’s) schedule.
It is nice to drive one place and do TWO classes. Makes it a bit more worth while! XOXOXO
