Big Mousse

Posted by terrepruitt on August 1, 2018

Mousse. Not the edible kind, but hair mousse. Do you use hair products? I do. My hair is really flat and I am always trying to make it look BIG. Yes, I am a lover of the big hair days of the 80s. I sometimes use gel and sometimes I use mousse. I am on a mousse kick now. Sadly I do not get any compensation for any of the post of any of the products I post about. I just post because I want to share or sometimes I am amazed. In this case I am amazed and I want to share. I have used several mousses (?) throughout my history of using them. I don’t even remember all the different brands, but the one I was using most recently was Fructis Style Sky-Hi Volume Mousse. It works good, or so I thought. I stumbled upon got2b fat-tastic Instant Collagen Infusion Mousse and now I know the difference.

Dance Exercise, Nia, Nia in the City of San Jose, Nia classes in the South Bay, Nia Teacher, Nia Class, San Jose Nia, Nia San Jose, Nia workout, Nia, Gentle Yoga, Group Ex classes, YMCA, Zumba, Nia Technique, SJ City Fit, SJCityFit, City of San Jose Exercise ClassesI found got2b fat-tastic Instant Collagen Infusion Mousse through Amazon’s add-on program. Ever use that? Do you know what that is? It is where you can add an item onto your order REALLY CHEAP, but your order must be at least $25.00. Sometimes the price at which you can get the “add-on” item is mind-blowing. What also blows my mind is – yes – sometimes I will shop for things I don’t necessarily need at the moment just to get my order up to $25.00 so that I can get that add-on item really cheap! Because sometimes they do go away. I’ve had add-on items in my cart waiting for me to need to order things to get to that $25.00 requirement and they have disappeared.

Anyway . . . this got2b fat-tastic Instant Collagen Infusion Mousse was an add on item and I thought, “What the heck for $4.00 I’ll try it.” Well, it is pretty cool. At first I was using way too much because when I spray the other mousse in my hand it somewhat expands, but then the second I put it on my hair it disappears. It is as if the expansion is really just air and the second it touches something it disappears. With the got2b fat-tastic mousse, it does expand when you spray it but it doesn’t disappear when I put it on my hair. It is almost as if it gets thicker.

I thought my hair was getting hold and volume with the Fructis Style Sky-Hi Volume Mousse, but then I noticed my hair was really flat and lifeless one day. It didn’t occur to me that it was probably the Fructis until I went to use got2b fat-tastic mousse the next time. Since I have a bottle of the Fructis mousse I am trying to use it up so that is why I am going back and forth. Now I will only use the Fructis Style Sky-Hi Volume Mousse when I am staying home because if my hair is flat and lifeless at home — whatever. I will stick to using the got2b fat-tastic Instant Collagen Infusion Mousse when I am going out.

It really makes a difference. Also since it actually expands so much I use a lot less of the got2b mousse than of Fructis mousse. I know this is an odd post, but every time I spray this stuff into my hand it amazes me. I figure why not share what I have experienced. I always like to save money and waste less, and this stuff makes me feel like I am doing both because I am using less product on my hair. I like the result so much more too.

So? What products do you use on your hair? Do you use a mousse? Does it do that expanding thing in your hand?

  1. Hey Terre, you might want to try Paul Mitchell Thick Up, or Paul Mitchell Fast Form. Those are hair gels and not a moose so it doesn’t have the conditioners and the flattening effect that I found Mousses have. The Thick Up product is almost like it expands every hair shaft two double, so when you brush your hair while it’s still wet get it into the right shape flip your head upside down and then spray with a relatively stiff hairspray. The trick is to make sure your hair is fluffy and dry looking (and not gel wet looking) before the hairspray. The best hairspray ive found for fluffy hold is paul mitchell extra body finishing spray.

When i visit to see you let me know if you want me to bring them all so you can try them.

    • Ahhh. I rarely use hairspray because I don’t dry my hair. I usually just leave the house with wet hair. And – yes, sometimes after it is dry it has that “gel wet look” until I comb it. Ha! Thanks for commenting!!

I am looking forward to seeing you!
