Helpful Christmas Gift
Posted by terrepruitt on January 4, 2021
As sometimes happens I couldn’t think of anything to post about for hours and now that I thought of something I don’t have time, I need to go cook dinner. It too late to do a nice post with all the great Christmas gifts I received from my hubby, so I am going to do a quick one with one of the items and do another post with some of the others. I can’t sit here taking a bunch of photos to accompany my post. So you get a quick post with some quick pictures. Gone are the days where my husband and I surprise each other with great gifts. Now-a-days we give each other lists and most of the time it is just little things. You will see when I do another post. You will probably laugh at what was on my list. We are blessed so anything we feel we need we buy it during the year. We are also pretty frugal so we don’t always buy the latest things. If you remember my last phone upgrade was from a 5 to a 10 XS and I hope to keep it just as long! But sometimes we need things to help us with our devices. So this is what I asked for:
Ha . . . keep in mind that it too small to be anything other than what it is! So far it has been very helpful. I tend to wander from room to room doing various things. I may be in one room doing something then I go into another to do something and a cat will distract me. Then I go back to my office . . . I don’t stay in one place all day, so I am constantly misplacing my phone. I set it down wherever. As I said, if a cat distracts me I will stop what I am doing and I could set the phone anywhere. This helps me keep track of it!
Also, I have been finding that my airpods charge doesn’t seem to last long . . . or more accurately I use them A LOT so they always need to be charged. I often use one and then when it makes the noise indicating it needs charging I put the other one in and then take out the one that needs charging. MOST of the time it changes over seamlessly but not always and sometimes they just die too quickly so I end up using my old airbuds. Well, have you ever forgot about that whole set up (airbuds in your ears plugged into the phone, phone sitting somewhere where you decide not to be) and rip the buds out of your ears, or the cord out of the phone, or the phone off the counter? UGH! I hate when I do that. So with this that does not happen! It is pretty nifty.
For a while I was looking for an armband, but this is much more convenient because it doesn’t have a plastic pocket where the phone goes so none of that to deal with and it is easy to just flip the phone up to see and work on.
Did you get anything useful for Christmas?

Yeah, you don’t like to decorate and you don’t buy Christmas gifts. I take it you are not a person that likes to celebrate Christmas? Although, my questions was meant for receiving. Did you receive any helpful Christmas gift . . . although, I am thinking maybe since you don’t seem to be into celebrating the Holiday . . . maybe your friends and family know that and respectful don’t include you in any of their celebration?

The strap is a great idea! I’m always wandering from room to room, especially while cleaning and can never remember where I lay my phone. I’m going to have to get one of those.
My husband got me a set of new pots and pans this year since my other ones are as old as the hills.

Yup. That is me. And when I am cleaning it could end up ANYWHERE because I stop to pick up something and set the phone down. Yay! A new set of pots and pans can make a difference in cooking!

I received immensely practical gifts from my husband and oldest daughter. No fluff here! Come to think of it, I gave largely practical gifts, too. I guess we aren’t very exciting, but they were gifts that would be used!

Yay! Sometimes practical is great. Because if it is something you use you get to think of the giver often instead of that lovely “whatever” that is only used once in awhile!

We tend to think that way, too.

I am using some of my Christmas gifts EVERYDAY. Although, I do LOVE those treasured gifts too. I wrote a post about that. You know the ones that you don’t use all the time and when you take them out it is such a treat! Ha! I think I just like presents. HA!

Yes. And it can allow the receiver to get joy every time they use the gift. And a bonus is maybe they think of you often!

You didn’t know there was lanyards? I have had an armband so I was always wanting one of those but they are not as convenient. Armbands are good for movement/exercise . . . lanyards are good for around the house. I tried to do Nia in it and it was hilarious. There are different kinds for different needs . . . some have a place to hold cards (credit, license, etc.) mine has a ring. Totally affordable!
