Tiny Feather
Posted by terrepruitt on November 17, 2017
This just fascinates me. This is just a tiny feather from a hummingbird. I am always amazed at how tiny they are. The yellow flowers barely measure an inch at the widest point.

🙂 This was the first one and I was so amazed. I have found other ones since. Plus I have gotten a closer look. Some are pretty brave and will let me get very close to the window . . . so I have been able to get a good look. Some are not so brave and fly away if there is the slightest movement in the room!

I can stand still outside next to the sunflower seed feeder which is about 2 feet from the hummingbird feeder and they fly right up and drink? The noise of their wings lets me know they are coming…lol

Cool. It helps when they are around for a while. I think every once in a while we get a whole group of “new” (baby) hummingbirds and it takes them a while to get used to us and feel safe. Their wings are loud, huh?

Ha. Yeah, GIGANTIC bumble bees! I am always shocked when they whack each other. There is enough food to go around, but they will whack each other!
