Merry Metal Christmas Tree
Posted by terrepruitt on December 22, 2021
I have been wanting a metal tree to hang Christmas ornaments on for years. But we have a lot of Christmas stuff and we really try not to add to it, plus the tree itself was rather expensive, but I kept wanting one. I kept my eye on it and every year the price went up. Then I happened upon one that was half the price of the original one I have been coveting. I think it might not be as sturdy, but it has a lot more “branches” and places to hang ornaments. So this was one of my Christmas presents this year.
I thought hanging ornaments on it would be easy, but it is not. I realized that it is good to hang the ornaments that are 360 kind of ornaments. Because the tree is so visible from every side it is nice to have ornaments that look pretty from all sides. I was also a bit cautious because this is the first time we have had it and I didn’t how sturdy it would be and I didn’t know how the cats would react. I don’t think they have even looked at it. It is pretty good they pay it not attention since I move one of their scratching things and put the tree there. They just go to the new spot to scratch.
I also had no idea how to hang the lights. I strung them from “branch” to branch where I think it would be cool to wrap them around each branch. I am not sure. I like it, but it took some getting used to. I hope to get better at it each year.
I like the extra added sparkle in the house.
I had taken videos as I was decorating to document what went where in case I did it the same next year. This is the last one starting about 1/3 of the way down.
As you may have seen in my last post I do have other metal ornament trees, but this one is much larger. Do any of you have a metal tree?

How lovely! It certainly looks like an option for those of us allergic to pines.

Oh, drat. That must be so difficult. Well, here is would be as there seems to be pine all over. This could be something to think about if you have ornaments you like to hang. 🙂

I can’t say that many of my ornaments are as beautiful as yours. For now, it’s just a standard artificial tree. You’ve given me something to aspire to!

Love your metal tree! They show off the ornaments so beautifully but lighting them can be a challenge.
The first year I strung lights on the branches but I didn’t love the look of the wires everywhere. Eventually I settled on lighting the pole, and I leave it assembled with the lights on in a corner of my house all year, then I just pop in the branches and go. I added some twinkle lights to the pole, and I supplement with battery powered clip-on candle lights at the ends of the branches. I don’t have a way to add photos here but I think you know what mine looks like by now!

Yeah, it is the wires that are annoying. I don’t like it either. Started with wrapping it around the pole and that is kinda why my light wire/cord is strung so taut between the branches. I didn’t have enough slack. Yes, I LOVE your candle lights. My is not the put the branches in kind. The branches slide over the center pole. So I can put them at any height. They can be all bunched up together or spread out. I think I may end up copying you with the lights around the center pole and the little candle lights. We will see.
I know my blog is dumb it won’t let people put photos in the comments. I think that is an extra fee. But you posted a picture on FB and I just looked at it because I love it. I believe that is the one I have looked at for years and ended up getting this less expensive and I think less sturdy one. I swear, though, I don’t think the cats have even looked at it. (Thank God!)
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my blog! Merry Christmas!
