Christmas Tree 2024 – Lights Only

Posted by terrepruitt on December 6, 2024

This is our 2024 Christmas Tree. This is the “Lights Only Stage”. There is a cat under it. We put our tree by a window and windows are a place for cats. So it is just easier to have it on a table. That way the cats still have access to the window and we are not having to clean up needles that they may knock off while getting to the window.

Here is the first of many Christmas photos for today’s Friday Photo.

How is your December going so far?

  2. Our December is going okay so far. No tree this year, though. Too much energetic young cat here to risk it!

    • Yeah, kittens are crazy! Although, I think if I had kittens I would get a tree and not decorate it and use it as a teaching them to stay out of it. But our cats have always been ok with our Christmas trees. I am happy to hear your December is going ok.

      • Ours has built-in lights that we can’t seem to remove. Very cat-tempting, no idea what we were thinking back when we got it. I think we might be due for a new tree next year!

        • Ha, ha, ha, ha! I think one of these days I will end up with one of those so that ALL the branches are strong enough so I can hang ALL of my ornaments. With a “real” tree not all the branches support ornaments! I bet you were thinking the tree is pretty and not so much “cat”. 🙂

  3. Love your tree Terre! My wife Sophie dresses our tree and it usully takes her a couple of evenings. Each year we try to buy 1-2 new tree decorations to replace old or broken.

In the UK, too many of the tree decorations on sale in the shops are covered in glitter, but we don’t buy them because the glitter is a form of micro plastics which is very bad ocean and gets into the food chain. People in the UK are getting more conscience about not using or buying glitter, but they still have a blind spot when it comes to tree baubles.

    Happy Holidays. 🙂

    • It is nice that your wife does the tree. Most of my ornaments are old and we are very fortunate hardly any ever break. Glitter seems to cover many things and give them that special sparkle. Almost everything in our modern-day-life-of-convenience society does some harm, it is good to do what we can.

Happy Holidays to you and yours. Thank you for stopping by here!
