I always take a million pictures of our ornaments because I love them. So even though I titled this 2024, you would never know it is from 2024 because the ornaments are the same every year, but I still take hundreds (ok, NOT millions) of pictures!
Slot machine, peacocks, and starfish.

Butterflies and starships.

Angels, hummingbirds, and flowers.

Unicorns and Spiderman!

Angels made of seashells, tea cups ornaments, tea pot ornaments, reindeer, and Christmas trees.

A NEW reindeer – SO SPARKLY! Don’t tell my hubby, but it was a gift!

Snowflakes and – shhhhhh! Another new ornament (a gold Christmas Tree), but it WAS a gift!

A Winnie the Pooh ornament and another starship.

Tigger and the starship.

Starships, Peloton ball, the new reindeer, another starfish, a star, and a stocking! Such fun!

What is on your Christmas tree?

This is the 10th Friday Photo this year that is of flowers. I love flowers, but of course they don’t last so I love being able to “save” them via photos.

I order flowers from the farm we get a produce box from. And while it is nice to have flowers delivered, there are always a few broken ones. Here is this weeks broken off flowers.

My niece and I have repeat conversations sometimes. We can vaguely recall having talked about a subject, but sometimes we forget the details. She texted me the other day about Taco Salad. She asked what type of dressing I put on it and I asked her what she put on it and that led to me remembering what dressing was used when I first learned of Taco Salad – Thousand Island. And that reminded me of the story about how I first learned of Taco Salad.
It was the 70s and we had gone to our pastor’s house for dinner. His wife was cooking and talking. She told us how she had put a cake in the oven and then later went to check on it and it wasn’t there. And it turned out she had put it in a cupboard and not the oven. Of course we thought that was a charming story, we laughed and went on with our visit.
But you can imagine what we thought when we saw this woman add all the ingredients for a taco salad in one bowl. And then add dressing. We thought she had kind of “lost it”. We had never seen such a thing. Salads like that were not usual way back then and she HAD just told us about baking a cake in the cupboard.
Of course we learned that she had mixed all of the ingredients together on purpose. The issue for us – my mom and I – was actually the Thousand Island dressing, neither of us liked it. But we ate some of the taco salad because that was dinner. I don’t even remember what she put in her taco salad I just remember how we thought she had made a mistake akin to baking in a cupboard.
And as it turned out taco salad ended up being a meal that both my mother and I loved. We just used things, including dressing, that we liked. My mom would put Catalina or French Dressing on hers, and I don’t use dressing. My husband is not a dressing type of person, so I think he uses salsa and sour cream, if we have it, on his salad. We put what we like in our salad and call it Taco Salad because it has “taco flavored” meat and corn chips.
Like most things when I blog about them then I want to make them or eat them so now I want Taco Salad.
Do you eat a version of Taco Salad? What do you put in yours? What type of dressing do you use?

So, hopefully you are stretching every day. And you understand it doesn’t have to interrupt your day. You can stretch during your daily routine. If you like stretching and you make the time to do it separately from your daily habits, that is great. I am all for that, but I know that people are so busy so I am just trying to encourage people to stretch EVERY DAY and give you ideas (or reminders) on how to do it.
Here is a squat. As you can see I am brushing my teeth while squatting. Ok, maybe you can’t actually see because these stretch pictures I have been posting are blurring, but that is ok with me, I am just trying to give you ideas and remind you that you can stretch EVERY DAY!
As always with my STRETCH EVERY DAY reminders I am not describing HOW to do the stretch, but I have already done a couple of posts on squatting so you can look back at those if you would like. What would be really cool, is if you read them while squatting. 🙂
Get Down On It
Squatting Does A Body Good
Garland Or Malasana Or Squat
So, are you still stretching?

So here is what I listened to from October 2023 through July 2023.
Starred ones I really liked. Although I didn’t mark ALL the ones I really liked, just the ones that stood out as I was creating the pictures to post. The same with the red lines (did not like) and red lines with DNF – did not finish. I didn’t go through my notes I just marked things off the top of my head.
I used to think once I started a book I had to finish it. Then I realized I didn’t need to make myself suffer. There are so many books to listen to (read) why listen to one that is making me miserable. So that is why I have a few DNF. I moved onto something I enjoyed.
Unfortunately when I first started listening to books I wasn’t taking notes. Then I realized it would be good if I did because some authors I would rather avoid and there are some narrators I would have to be paid to listen to.
Plus I sometimes completely forget what a book is about and how I felt about it . . . . so that is why I started taking notes. I imagine I will post some of those notes, but first the timeline.
You may notice (or have from other pictures) that there are some series that I like.
Ok, how about these? Have you read any of these? Any thoughts? Do you have any series that you read?

So how do you pick a book to read/listen to? I pick a book depending upon what I want to listen to. Primarily, I love to listen to lighthearted Rom Coms. I like to know how – basically – it is going to end. But sometimes I need a break from those. Most often I want a book fast because I just finished one and I want another one to listen to so sometimes I just will pick a book that is available. That method has led me to some very enjoyable books. Then I can look for books by that author or even books that the narrator has read. Looking at this list you may see that I have listened to a few books by the same author (Mhairi McFarlane, for one). I don’t like to read the entire book description because it often gives too much information away. Some books have started on a something-is-wrong-with-the-character but I know her “secret” because the summary said, “Joy is trying to keep her divorce a secret.” Well, that takes away from half of the book because the author wrote it as if IT WAS A SECRET. That is just an example. So I try not to read the book description or the reviews which I don’t put much stock in. So sometimes I am rather surprised by a book.
I am posting screenshots in batches because I am hoping to hear from you. And I think a batch of 10ish screenshots is enough to go through at a time.
Here are the screenshots of January 2024 thru November 2023.
February 2024 through April 2024 is here.
May 2024 to July 10, 2024 is here.
How do you pick a book? Have you read any of these?

More of my Libby Timeline. My first Libby Timeline post was about July 10, 2024 through May 2024, this one is April 2024 through February 2024. I started listening to library books in February of 2023. A couple I have liked so much I purchased them and have in Audible. I re-listen to books. Do you?
I have not re-listened to all the ones I have starred, those are the ones I recognized as really having liked without having looked at my notes. Books I didn’t like are indicated with a red line. Some have a red line AND I didn’t finish so those are the “DNF!!” ones.
Initially I thought I would post all the screenshots in one post, but then I thought it would be too much because my hope is that you will scroll through the pictures and maybe point out a book you have read and let me know what you think. Or you may see one that intrigues you and have questions or research it to read. Scrolling through a few pictures at a time is easier than all at once.
There are a couple that I didn’t actually borrow (and missed when deleted those) because they are not audiobooks.
Do you listen to audiobooks?

Here is my Libby Timeline. I thought I had deleted all the BOOKS I had borrowed accidentally. But when I was going through the screenshots I saw at least one. I don’t read on my phone so if I borrowed a book I returned it once I realized it was a eye-read book and not a listen-to book. I know I really liked a lot more than I “starred”, but I wasn’t looking at notes when I starred them so I was just going off of my initial “OH! I loved that book.” I indicated books I didn’t like with a read line. And the ones I didn’t like and Did Not Finish, I indicated with a red line and “DNF!!”. I also listen to books on Audible.
I was going to do reviews without spoilers but then I started taking notes to help me remember a book and they ended up having spoilers. I didn’t start taking notes when I started listening so not all the books I have listened to have notes. I wish I would have because there are some that I don’t remember some key things about. Oh well, an opportunity to listen again.
Every once in a while I think I will post my notes, so maybe I will. I will just post them as I took them . . . maybe . . . but for now there is this.
As I was uploading the screenshots, I decided I don’t want to post all 57 in one post, so this is only from May 2024 to July 10, 2024.
I also wanted to note that I usually return books right away, but since I have been trying to make notes on them, sometimes I get a new one and when I have a moment to take notes I do, so it might be a day or two. I kept the Tattooist for almost as long at the lending period because I wanted to listen to the end again. So the dates may be a bit wonky.
