Pretty Layers

Posted by terrepruitt on February 4, 2022

Shameful, my neglect of my blog. I just have been out of ideas of what to write. And even though I only post a picture on Fridays . . . which was supposed to make it easy and quick, sometimes I still don’t have time. Well, I do, but then I put it off until I don’t.

I was making some taco seasoning recently and I loved how the spices/herbs layered. Do you remember these kinds of candles or souvenirs? I used to love them . . . I guess I still do because this caught my eye.

Ha, my taco seasoning for my Friday Photo.

  1. Yes, I used to make those candles and sand art in jars as a kid! 🙂

    • Ha! Yes. I am sure they still sell kits like that. I love the layered look. Granted I shook it right after I took the pictures, but I enjoyed it for a moment. The candles were packed so shaking didn’t disturb the layers. Thank you for the little walk down memory lane!

  2. Hi Terre,

Your photo reminded me of a particular cliff and beach called Alum Bay, on the Isle Of Wight.
The colours of the Alum Bay sands are entirely natural and are mostly due to various compounds of iron.
Here a link to show you an example and more info. https://www.therockgallery.co.uk/vintage-sand-ornament—alum-bay-isle-of-wight-second-hand-3784-p.asp

    Best Wishes
    Kevin 🙂
