Always Have A Cover

I continued to use my old phone because I refused to take my new one out of the house.  I always have a case and a screen cover.  There used to be plastic screen covers.  The place I order my cases from used to include a few screen covers in every case purchase.  So I had a handful.  They would get scratched and I would plan on putting a new one on, but it was kind of pain, I didn’t do it very often.  The iPhone 5 had a known issue of the sleep button failing, but for some reason my phone wasn’t covered in the free fix, so after about a year of not being able to sleep my phone I went to have it fixed.  They didn’t fix it properly the first time so when I went back the second time the owner threw in a new screen cover.  It was glass.  It was so pretty.  It made my screen look great.  Granted, I had needed a new one, but was going to change it after I had taken my phone in.  So the one that he replaced was all scratched and worn.  So just having a new one was a huge improvement, but the glass one was really great.  So when I got my new phone, I ordered some glass screen covers with my cases.

This last one that broke I barely noticed it even though it was a much larger crack – all the way across the screen – it was just where it was, I guess.  This time I had faith that it was the cover that cracked.  But I looked close to see that the crack was just in the middle – where the cover is – and not all the way to the edges.  So that assured me that it was just the cover.  But it looked like an impact crack . . . which I couldn’t figure out.  There was a little spot near the side where it looked like something hit the screen then a crack going across the phone, a crack going up, a crack going down to the closest edge, and two separate cracks going across to the closest edge.  It was odd.

I am always so grateful that I have a case and a cover because I believe that both have saved my phone from actually breaking a multitude of times.  Besides the fact that I like to have a pretty cover.

Do you have a case and/or a screen cover for your phone?  Do you feel that they have help protect your phone?

Automatic Blocked Calls

Posted by terrepruitt on October 10, 2018

Today my cell phone rang and when I looked at it, it showed “Telemarketer”. Well, that is cool. I didn’t label it that, the new (to me) application that my husband put on my phone did. He downloaded AT&T Call Protect. So, if you have AT&T you can use it too on Android and iOS. I decided to see what it is about since it is on my phone now. Normally I research before I put stuff on my phone, but my husband was pretty eager to put this on my phone. I don’t like that it logs ALL your calls, but I guess that is how it keeps track of the spam phone calls. And that seems to be how it is lately – all companies are keep track of everything we do.

Dance Exercise, Nia, Nia in the City of San Jose, Nia classes in the South Bay, Nia Teacher, Nia Class, San Jose Nia, Nia San Jose, Nia workout, Nia, Gentle Yoga, Group Ex classes, YMCA, Zumba, Nia Technique, SJ City Fit, SJCityFit, City of San Jose Exercise ClassesOf course there is a free version and a paid version. According to the website call protect has:

–Automatic Fraud Blocking – detects and blocks calls from likely fraudsters.

–Suspected Spam Warning – identifies telemarketers and other suspected spam calls.

–Manual Call Blocking – lets you block unwanted calls by number.

–Enhanced Caller ID† – identifies unknown caller details.

–Reverse Number Lookup† – provides details when you enter a U.S. number.

–Custom Call Controls† – lets you choose call categories to accept, block, or send to voicemail.

Available with AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect Plus.

I know you can block numbers on the phone itself, but if you do it from this application then the number itself could end up being added to the AUTOMATIC FRAUD BLOCKED calls. The more “blocks” the number receives the higher the “Threat” level.

It is so frustrating and annoying that we even need this type of thing. I understand people making calls to make sales, but getting a call everyday at the same time isn’t a person, it is a robot and there needs to be an end. If I didn’t answer the phone or want your product or service the first 50 times you called, chances are astronomically high that I don’t want it the 69th or 100th time you call.

We will see how well this works. I’ve only had it for about 24 hours. It was really nice to see the “Telemarketer” on my phone. But I really don’t ever answer my phone if I don’t recognize the number. That is a sad thing to have to do when you own a business, but because I own a business I get so many marketing calls. If an actually potential client calls they have to leave a message.  Here you can see even more information.

Do you get a lot of annoying sales calls? Do you uses AT&T Call Protect? Does your service provider have this type of service?  What do you think?

Its Annoying When People Don’t Use. . . .

Posted by terrepruitt on July 25, 2009

I am actually interested in hearing what you think, because I know what annoys me.  So let me know what you think.  Add comments to what I have or come up with your own.

It’s annoying when people don’t use:

Car blinkers

Car ashtrays

Car gas pedals

Door mats

Manners

Headsets (hands free devices) for cell phones while driving (yeah, in California it is illegal to hold your phone)

Headsets for office phones (we all do not need to hear your conversation even if it is a “business” conversation)

Office doors (see the above)

Crook of your arm when sneezing or coughing (it is better to cough/sneeze into the crook of your arm as opposed to your hand that touches things)

Bathroom sinks (they’re for washing your hands after you use the restroom before you go back to work. Oh yeah, I’ve seen it happen.)

Ok, I honestly just started out with two, but then I thought that looked kind of measly and I let my brain wander.  Let’s see how this one works out. What about you? What bugs you when they are not used properly?

Yeah, “do you know the way to San Jose?” that is what pops into my head, because my blog has strayed . . . . oh well, thanks for putting up with it!
