Additional Angles Of 2024 Metal Christmas Tree

Posted by terrepruitt on December 28, 2024

You may have seen my Friday Photo post on December 13, 2024 that was titled One Angle Of Metal Christmas Tree. Here are more angles. I really love the metal tree because it allows me to hang heavy ornaments and allows some ornaments to be seen better. I always think it will be fast to put up, but it is not.

It took me a particularly long time to assemble this year as I had thought I had mislabeled the parts, but I had not. Then I didn’t open every box (containing ornaments) that I have and start pulling things out. I was trying to do a few boxes at a time which meant different ornaments were going on the tree. I try to use the heavier ones on the metal tree, but I also like to use ones that look good from the back.

Also, I am not part of the Christmas-Day-is-over-decorations-come-down crowd, I like to at least make it through the 12 days of Christmas and then it depends on the status of the tree (is it super dry?) and when the weekend falls.

Anyway, we enjoy our metal tree. Here are just a few of the MANY pictures I took of it. Thank you for looking!

Merry Christmas!

When do you take your decorations down?

Both my tree skirts, this one and the one around the other Christmas tree, were made by my mother-in-law.  She was an amazing seamstress.

More 2024 Christmas Tree Ornaments

Posted by terrepruitt on December 24, 2024

So, as I said, I am just posting all the pictures I have taken of our Christmas Tree ornaments.  Well, actually not ALL, but most.  The same ornaments from different angles.  Just showing the menagerie we have on our tree.

As you will see in the next post, the Christmas Tree post, there is a large “hole” in the tree.  We use that to hang a lot of ornaments.  We try to fill up the blank section.  This is that section.

The bauble on the left is at least 45 years old.

I think that is the Enterprise.

There is another one of those baubles that are at least 45 years old.  In the lower left.

I believe that blue bulb on the right is a part of that collection of old ornaments.

Another star ship, right next to a tea cup and saucer.

“You’re My Lobster”.

Pink bulb part of the old collection.  Above the Mach 5.  I can also say that those candy canes are at least 20 years old.

The tree is still very green, good tree this year.  A bit narrow and wonky with a huge blank section, but it’s ok.  What is your favorite Christmas Tree ornament to put on your tree?  (Or hang, if you don’t have a tree?)  Do you have a favorite you look forward to every year?

Peloton Ornaments

Posted by terrepruitt on December 22, 2024

Ha, ha, ha, ha!  Yes, I asked for the Peloton Ornament set for Christmas.  And my husband said, “Why wait until Christmas to open them when you can put them on the tree now?”  So he gave them to me early so I can enjoy them on the tree this year – 2024.  Yay!  They are a nice size.  We really put all types of ornaments on our Christmas tree!

This one has a high-five on it.  Hilarious.  I LOVE IT!

No Room

Posted by terrepruitt on December 30, 2023

No room, and I am not talking about at the Inn.  I have so many Christmas ornaments they don’t always make it onto the tree. Sometimes the tree we get is just too small or it will not support the amount of ornaments I have. This makes me sad. And we really have no space to store any additional ornaments. So we don’t get ornaments. But I saw this sparkly one and wanted it. It is actually quite heavy so I doubt it will ever make it to the Christmas tree. It will probably always be placed somewhere in the house or on the metal ornament tree. It is great. I love it. But I really can’t get any more ornaments.

Ornaments On A Christmas Tree – 2022

Posted by terrepruitt on December 23, 2022

That is it, Christmas ornaments on a Christmas tree.   That is my Friday Photo.

What do you see?  Do you see a heart, icicles, snowflakes, a star ship, balls, bulbs, a Christmas tree, a hummingbird, a star, an egg . . . . ?

Cute Seal

Posted by terrepruitt on December 21, 2022

This is a little seal. He is cute. He looks like he is flying or we could pretend he is floating in the surf. I like him.  I think he is super cute!  What do you think?

Do you have any animal ornaments on your tree?

Lenox Table Top Ornament Tree

Posted by terrepruitt on December 20, 2021

I am doing a search but I am not finding my little ornament tree having been posted. I cannot believe it. Years ago John’s sister gifted us an ornament from Lenox and it started me on my collection of ornaments from them. For many years I was getting their annual snow flake but the quality kept going down so I stopped that. I have so many and I think they are so pretty they have their own little tree that sits on a table where it is fairly safe. Safe from me or anyone knocking it over.

You may see a theme or you probably know me well enough, I love the sparkles. I was sitting at the table this morning and I took a few pictures and now sitting here at my computer trying to write a post I thought I might as well share.

Which one is YOUR favorite?

Unicorn Ornament

Posted by terrepruitt on December 14, 2018

Here is one of my new Christmas Tree ornaments that I believe we got in Capitola during one of our visits. This is the new kind I seem to be collecting. They are so pretty. The ones I tend to like are decorated with beads, “pearls”, sparkly things, and dangles. Here is a unicorn ornament for my Friday Photo.

Happy 2018

Dance Exercise, Nia, Nia in the City of San Jose, Nia classes in the South Bay, Nia Teacher, Nia Class, San Jose Nia, Nia San Jose, Nia workout, Nia, Gentle Yoga, Group Ex classes, YMCA, Zumba, Nia Technique, SJ City Fit, SJCityFitI hope everyone had a very nice first day of 2018. I know in my group of friends/acquaintances there are some that are facing some pretty heartbreaking challenges, but for the most part I am seeing a lot of “Happy New Year” posts on Facebook. A lot of people thinking that 2018 will be better than 2017 . . . not getting into what they might have thought 2017 (good/bad/great/horrific) . . . just that they think 2018 will be better. I have a few things I am looking forward to in 2018.

Dance Exercise, Nia, Nia in the City of San Jose, Nia classes in the South Bay, Nia Teacher, Nia Class, San Jose Nia, Nia San Jose, Nia workout, Nia, Gentle Yoga, Group Ex classes, YMCA, Zumba, Nia Technique, SJ City Fit, SJCityFitI am going to eek out the last day that I think I can get away with posting Christmas stuff. I received several lovely ornaments for Christmas and I want to share . . . although I am sure they will make it on to some form of my social media next year. I wanted to share this year, too.  Some I have already posted on Facebook.  But I am sharing here too!

I have two new ones from Pilgrim Imports. You may have read my post about Lenox ornaments. I used to get their annual snowflake ornament. I did it for years. But the quality started to decline and I was rethinking that whole thing. Then one year I received one that was poorly painted and the little gems were all crooked so I asked to exchange it. Well, they sent me another one that was almost as bad as the first. So I stopped receivingDance Exercise, Nia, Nia in the City of San Jose, Nia classes in the South Bay, Nia Teacher, Nia Class, San Jose Nia, Nia San Jose, Nia workout, Nia, Gentle Yoga, Group Ex classes, YMCA, Zumba, Nia Technique, SJ City Fit, SJCityFit their annual ornament.  And asked them to stop marketing to me altogether. Their regular ornaments might be better quality, but if they can’t put out a good quality for their annual ornament I stopped being a customer. I discovered Pilgrim Import ornaments. They are metal ornaments with sparkles attached and bobbles hanging from some of them. I love them. If you’ve seen any of my post about Christmas ornaments before you have probably seen one or two of them. This year I received two new ones. A jelly fish with pink and blue “pearls” attached. And a giraffe adorned with glass beads!

And . . . as I said, Lenox’s regular ornaments might be fine because we receive a beautiful glass Angel that says HOPE from my sister-in-law.  It is also not the regular porcelain (or whatever the snowflakes are made of) type of ornaments I used to collect.

I also was gifted a silver star and a beautiful blue butterfly. The angel I received on Christmas and our tree is a little too droopy for me to trust her on it.  I don’t think the branches would hold her safely. But the star and butterfly are not as fragile so they went on right away.

I am looking forward to decorating with them next Christmas. I am not looking forward to taking down the tree and all the decorations. So much so that I haven’t even started yet.

Happy 2018.  Is there anything you are looking forward to in 2018?

Cats And The Christmas Tree

Posted by terrepruitt on December 4, 2017

Dance Exercise, Nia, Nia in the City of San Jose, Nia classes in the South Bay, Nia Teacher, Nia Class, San Jose Nia, Nia San Jose, Nia workout, Nia, Gentle Yoga, Group Ex classes, YMCA, Zumba, Nia Technique, SJ City Fit, SJCityFitWe do somethings that we think deter the cats from the tree. As with most years we put our tree on a table. This helps keep it out of the cats’ way. With our first cat the weekend we brought the tree in the house she spend two days throwing up. My husband is convinced that she ate a needle and it bothered her stomach so ever since then we are fastidious about needles on the floor. I vacuum often when we have a tree that sheds a lot. One year, when the tree was on the floor, I was vacuuming ALL the time because the cat would walk by with tail up and knock a load of needles off the tree. Another reason why we put our tree on a table. We are fortunate to have a very tall ceiling where we put the tree. We have also experienced cats drinking the tree water. That can’t happen.

BC, as in Before Cat(s), I had purchased some “Tree Saver”. It goes in the tree water and supposedly it helps the tree last longer. Well, can’t put that in the tree water with cats. Don’t know what it is in, but I bet they shouldn’t be drinking it. And so we don’t do that, but also, “they” say that the pesticides and chemicals that the trees are grown with shouldn’t be ingested by cats. So it is not a good idea for cats to drink the water that the tree is in. Plus, even though we replenish the water daily the dish doesn’t get washed and the water is just sitting in there for a month . . . cats don’t need to be drinking that. So my hubby came up with a simple cat deterrent. He just cut some cardboard and put it over the tree’s dish. Normally, it can’t be seen. But this is a different kind of tree, it doesn’t have any low branches, so the dish can be seen. But that is ok. It not THAT noticeable and it keeps the cats out of the water.

That means neither needles nor ornaments get knocked down.

Now this is only the third Christmas that we have had these cats and so far so good. In fact, what I did this year was so out of the ordinary, yet they didn’t bother anything. I was in a rush to get the boxes emptied and put up so I just pulled a bunch of the stuff out of the boxes and left it lying around. And we had boxes in the house for weeks. And to my knowledge, they didn’t bother anything. Nessa liked to jump in and sit in the middle of some garland that took me days to hang.

I do play with them A LOT during Christmas. I make sure I get up early so we have a lot of play time. Also, since I am home, when they ask (and they DO ask) to play, if I can, I stop what I am doing and play with them. I figure if they are not bored then they will not mess with the Christmas tree and decorations.

I also tell them “No!” for just looking. If they LOOK at the tree, I say, “No.”  They are really good girls because not only is there a tree in their house it displaces their tower.  I figure we have about 30 days.  At least we did with Spot.  Day 31, she let us know she was done.

How does your cat handle a tree inside the house for a month?
